Letter of intent: Search for deeply bound k systems via their two body decay
نویسنده
چکیده
Recent experimental and theoretical studies suggest the possible existence of nuclear systems with K bound states. If the I=0 attractive KN interaction is strong enough to deeply bind the K and to energetically block the main decay channel to Λπ, then the bound states are expected to have relatively small widths. Detailed studies are available in the literature for different K nuclei. The expected binding energies are about 100 MeV and the widths are about 20-50 MeV [1, 2, 3].

We analyze three-body decays of and . Under the factorization approach, there are tree level diagrams for these decay modes and the transition matrix element of decay is factorized into a form factor multiplied by decay constant and form factor multiplied into weak vertices form factor. The transition matrix element of decay is also factorized into a form factor multiplied into weak vertic...

Recently, the search for deeply bound nuclear states with antikaons has attracted large interest. It was recently found [1] that the p+p reaction might be well suited for the production of (K−pp) nuclear bound states. We have proposed to perform an exclusive measurement using the FOPI detector [2] exploiting the reaction p+p at 3.5GeV and to build for this purpose a dedicated trigger device. Th...
